Advanced autonomous localization solution for divers, instantly displaying GPS position during emergencies
The ENOS® Receiver from SEAREQ is the core of the autonomous diving rescue and locating system designed for safety at sea. Installed onboard, it receives signals from the ENOS® distress beacons carried by divers. With its integrated GPS and dedicated radio transmission, the system instantly provides the direction and distance to a drifting diver. Completely independent of MRCCs (Maritime Rescue Coordination Centers) and coastguards, it ensures full autonomy—without license fees or subscriptions.
Trusted worldwide on yachts, dive centers and specialized vessels, the ENOS® Receiver combines advanced technology, rugged reliability and user-friendly operation. It is the ideal solution for professionals responsible for scuba diving safety and maritime security.

The ENOS® Receiver turns a critical situation into a swift, controlled rescue. Unlike conventional systems that depend on external services, ENOS® runs in a closed loop between the vessel and the divers’ ENOS® distress beacons. This delivers total independence and immediate reactivity—essential for dive operators, yacht captains, and professional crews.
This autonomous rescue system lets crews act fast under pressure, providing the exact direction and distance to a diver in distress. The interface is engineered to deliver the essentials in a clear, simple, reassuring way.
Combining the receiver’s GPS position [A] with the beacon’s GPS position [B], the ENOS® Receiver calculates the exact bearing and distance from the boat to the diver.
This information is displayed clearly and intuitively on the receiver screen.
The onboard ENOS® Receiver uses GPS satellites to fix its position. When a beacon is activated, it automatically transmits its coordinates to the receiver via an autonomous UHF radio link.
ENOS® instantly alerts the crew in an emergency and displays the diver’s position clearly on the receiver screen.
As soon as a beacon is activated, the ENOS® Receiver relays a first alert onboard so the crew can respond quickly:
The alert message remains active until the crew acknowledges it.
When the ENOS® Receiver gets GPS data from the beacon, it renders a simple, easy-to-read graphic on screen:
Numbers (e.g., 1 and 2) inside the circle indicate the divers’ positions relative to the boat. The circle radius auto-scales to the farthest active distress signal. With suitable antenna height, the ENOS® reception area extends up to 5.6 NM / ~10 km.
The right-hand data panel lists all essentials for the rescue:
Depending on ambient light, the display contrast colors can be adjusted to user preference. According to local lighting conditions, screen colors can be set individually: Blue / White or Black / White or White / Black.
Even under stress, the ENOS® Receiver screen keeps the diver’s position clear and unambiguous.
The ENOS® Receiver displays the boat’s position, bearing, and distance to the diver. Smart power management ensures extended autonomy.
ENOS® relays a first alert to the dive boat the moment a beacon is activated, enabling an immediate crew response. All essential rescue data is clearly displayed, including distance, diver positions, local date and time.
The receiver’s efficiency relies on pairing with ENOS® beacons (ETX) carried by each diver.
Once activated, the beacon streams its GPS position to the receiver, which displays the location instantly—so every alert is handled without delay by the crew on site.
To suit different operations, the ENOS® Receiver is available in:
The ENOS® Beacon weighs only 160 g, is pressure-tight to 100 m, and mounts securely to dive gear. With up to 170 h autonomy, it’s intuitive—even under stress: just turn the switch to activate. Learn more about the beacon
Despite precautions, divers can be caught by strong currents. ENOS®, the electronic rescue and locating system, provides a crucial solution for surface emergencies.
With the ENOS® Receiver installed on the dive boat and ENOS® beacons carried by divers, the system ensures precise localization and rapid response in any emergency.
