The ultimate diver rescue system
ENOS, the divers' best friend

Lost

Despite all precautions, strong currents can still surprise divers and sweep them away into the ocean. An extremely dangerous situation!

This often results in large-scale search operations that do not always end successfully, as drifting divers are just "tiny drops in the ocean".

Found

The ENOS electronic location and rescue system provides crucial assistance: it is the world's first satellite-based GPS rescue system dedicated to divers, supporting the search for missing divers on the surface. ENOS is reliable and high-performing worldwide.

Electronic Rescue and Location System

The ENOS system consists of 2 units supported by GPS:

  • The ENOS receiver on board the dive boat
  • The ENOS beacons that divers are equipped with during the dive

The ENOS ERX Receiver

Depending on the dive center's needs, the ENOS receiver is available in several versions:

  • Control screen permanently installed at the command post with a remote antenna, fixed installation (ERX-P / ERX-S).
  • Mobile device in a watertight Pelican case for easy transport. This option is particularly suitable for rigid-hulled inflatable boats (ERX-BT-I/ERX-BT-O/ERX-I/O-ERX).

ENOS System Operation Principle

  1. The ENOS receiver is placed on the dive boat. Its GPS position [A] is determined through GPS satellites.
  2. Once on the surface, divers activate their ENOS beacons, which transmit a first alert to the ENOS receiver on the boat. The crew is immediately informed of the emergency situation. Then, the ENOS beacon automatically determines its GPS position [B].
  3. As soon as the ENOS beacon has evaluated its GPS position [B], it automatically transmits the data to the ENOS receiver through an independent radio frequency (UHF).

Using its own GPS position [A] and the received GPS position [B] from the beacon, the ENOS receiver then determines the exact distance and direction between the boat and the distressed diver.

These data are clearly and simply displayed on the ENOS receiver's screen.

Location, ENOS on the Screen

Once activated, the ENOS beacon transmits a first alert to the boat, quickly informing the crew about the distressed divers:

  • A high-frequency alarm is audible
  • A red window appears on the screen

This alarm message box remains active until the crew confirms its reception.

When the ENOS receiver receives GPS data from the ENOS beacon, it displays them on the screen with a simple graphical representation:

The cross in the center of the circle represents the boat's position.

The arrow at the top of the circle indicates the boat's heading.

Numbers 1 and 2 within the circle show the divers' positions relative to the boat.

The radius of the circle automatically adjusts based on the farthest emergency signal.

On the right side of the graphical representation (circle), essential data necessary for the rescue operation are displayed:

      • The number of distress calls received (Count)
      • The elapsed time since the first call (Time)
      • The distance
      • The divers' positions
      • The date, local time, position data, boat speed, and heading are displayed in the upper right corner of the screen
      • The battery symbol indicates the battery charge status
      • The broken green bars indicate the number of received GPS satellite signals, with one bar per satellite

Depending on the ambient lighting conditions, the screen's contrast colors can be adjusted according to user preferences. Depending on the local lighting conditions, the screen colors can be individually adjusted: Blue/White, Black/White, White/Black.

ENOS: A Unique Rescue System in the World, Finding the Tiny Drop in the Ocean

No more searching for missing divers! Thanks to the precise data displayed on the ENOS receiver's screen, the crew always knows the location of the drifting divers.

Each ENOS receiver receives all alerts from all ENOS beacons within their reception range, even if they belong to divers from other boats.

Each beacon can be customized.

"External" alerts are also presented with all necessary data for a quick rescue, but without the diver's name = without personalization.

In the figure above, Diver #2 belongs to another boat.

ENOS is the only dedicated diver rescue system worldwide that can receive, evaluate, and display multiple alerts simultaneously.

ENOS: The Key to Quick Rescue

Even in stressful situations, the ENOS receiver's screen clearly shows the drifting diver's position in a highly understandable manner.

For a swift rescue operation!

The graph can be displayed in two versions:

1. Relative Diagram

The distance and heading between the boat and the diver are displayed on the screen (Figure 1).

2. GPS Position

The screen displays the precise GPS coordinates of the distressed diver (Figure 2).

If multiple divers are in distress and activate their ENOS beacons, the ENOS receiver is capable of evaluating and displaying all received alerts simultaneously.

The ENOS receiver: Extraordinary performance

The graphical display on the ENOS receiver's screen is easy to understand. The display conversion and the intuitive and user-friendly menu of the ENOS receiver are programmed in English and German.

This ensures optimal presentation of all rescue data and perfect graphical display.

The ENOS receiver receives, evaluates, and displays multiple alerts simultaneously detected within its reception range.

Exceptional Power Management

The rechargeable batteries of the ENOS receiver last for approximately 120 hours.

The factors contributing to the success of the ENOS system:

      • Immediate alert, immediate rescue
      • Easy to handle and understand
      • Comprehensive information about the distressed person + precise distance data
      • Precise GPS coordinates upon request
      • Evaluation of multiple alerts simultaneously

Multiple models of ENOS receivers offer tailored solutions for individual needs!

ENOS Receiver - Mobile Applications

The ENOS receiver is available in several different versions. This range of tailored solutions is specifically designed to meet the individual needs of the dive center.

      • Is the dive boat frequently changed?
      • Is there no bridge on the dive boat?
      • Does ENOS need to be used on a tender?

In such cases, the portable ENOS receiver is the ideal solution.

It is available with a built-in touchscreen display, model ERX-O, or with a tablet as a mobile screen, model ERX-BT-O.

All portable ENOS receivers are fully equipped with internal GPS and reception antennas. The receivers are self-sufficient, economically independent, and can be used anywhere without additional technical support.

The integrated GPS antenna requires an external application to determine the ENOS receiver's GPS position. External positioning on the deck or bridge is recommended.
